FRAGEBOGEN: Lewis Fieldhouse [English Version]

„Fragebogen“ is a standard interview with 15 questions around music plus a special task. This time it’s the singer Lewis Fieldhouse who answers them.

***Hier geht es zur deutschen Version des Fragebogens***

First cd: Robbie Williams – the ego has landed. Actually some ok tracks on here… ok, not loads but some good singles.

First concert: BB king! I KNOW! Thanks Mum & dad!

First childhood memory related to music: Learning piano with a really old man and then not liking it so much after he retired. I stopped playing piano after that. Regret it.

Favourite song at the moment: Father John Misty – Smoochie. This slow and dreamy track from his latest LP is just oozing with sincerity and his usual sharpness, the music wraps you up in a big fluffy duvet.

A rather embarrassing song you like: how deep is your love – the bee gees. THE BEST SONG OF ALL TIME.

Favourite song among your own: live so fast, kiss so slow. It’s fun, cheeky and there’s a huge solo in there!

Favourite songlyrics: Simon & Garfunkel – ‚bookends‘ ‚old friends, winter companions the old men. Lost in their overcoats waiting for the sun set.‘ The whole song really. Amazing lyric.

Best concert: Radiohead – Leeds festival – 2010. Life changing experience.

Worst concert: the XX – liverpool sound city 2010 – they were truly awful and were booed off stage!

Best concert among your own: this April at the slaughtered lamb. Dancing – singing – big crowd. Thanks if you came!

Vinyl, cd or mp3? I like all three for different reasons. Old music is great on vinyl. New music is better on CD.

Download or stream? Stream. Who has the hard drive space? Not me!

Club concert or festival? club concert. It’s my own crowd!

Three songs that really have to be on your mixtape:

Vulfpeck – Christmas in LA
Khruangbin – two fish and an elephant
Ste Forshaw – apple seed

An album you would NOT take with you to a lonely island: human after all – daft punk. No one to dance with ?

This is the guitar I recorded the album with. A 1950’s harmony master arch top. Really beautiful sound. Great to play!
