„Fragebogen“ is a standard interview with 15 questions around music plus a special task. This time it’s singer/songwriter Andrew Butler who answers them.
*** Hier geht es zur deutschen Version des Fragebogens ***
First cd: Nirvana – In Utero
First concert: Ron Sexsmith at the Royal Festival Hall London
First childhood memory related to music: Dancing to Michael Jackson on my parent’s dining room table pretending I was the King of Pop himself. Those were the days!
Favourite song at the moment: Rodriguez – Cause. I can’t believe it has taken the world so long (apart from South Africa) to discover this guy.
A rather embarrassing song you like: Jan Terri – Losing You. Please check out the video to this as it is quite simply brilliant…
Favourite song among your own: It would have to be one I’m working on for my next album entitled „Days Of The Dead“. It is really difficult for me to play and sing and reminds me to keep practicing and pushing myself to become a better artist.
Favourite songlyrics: „For you’ve touched her perfect body with your mind“ (Leonard Cohen – Suzanne) and “If I know only one thing, it’s that everything that I see of the world outside is so inconceivable often I barely can speak” (Fleet Foxes – Helplessness Blues)
Best concert: Leonard Cohen at the First Direct Arena in Leeds 2013
Worst concert: Coldplay at Wembley Stadium 2009 – I had just been dumped so I had to go on my own. Not fun.
Best concert among your own: I think my best performance was supporting my friend and very talented artist Sophie Jamieson at her Communion show in London. It was a big crowd and I loved every second of it.
Vinyl, cd or mp3? I love vinyl but I can’t afford it, so cd as that’s what I started with as a moody teenager.
Download or stream? Stream as I used to be a download junkie.
Clubconcert or festival? Festival! Who doesn’t like to be stinky and drunk?
Three songs that really have to be on your mixtape: Bob Dylan – Idiot Wind (Bootleg Series), The Doors – L.A. Woman, Nina Simone – Sinnerman.
An album you would NOT take with you to a lonely island: Anything by Ellie Goulding.
„A selfie with my guitar.“
