FRAGEBOGEN: Ran Nir (LFNT) [English Version]

„Fragebogen“ is a standard interview with 15 questions around music plus a special task. This time it’s Ran Nir from LFNT who answers them.

*** Hier geht es zur deutschen Version des Fragebogens ***

First cd: Nirvana –  Nevermind

First concert: Metallica live in Israel.

First childhood memory related to music: Pogo dancing to „Rape Me“ by Nirvana on my 11th or 12th birthday party in my parents house living room.

Favourite song at the moment: Sorry, I don’t have a favorite song at the moment. But to not leave you without an answer I would say I like to listen to „This Low Commotion“ by Timber Timbre a lot lately.

A rather embarrassing song you like: Britney Spears – Toxic, great production.

Favourite song among your own: Normally it’s the last one I wrote, but now I’m working on a 3rd album so I’m working on many together. I pick „Obsession“, it’s not out yet… wait for it.

Favourite songlyrics: Bob Dylan -„Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right“

Best concert: Probably „Radiohead“ in Rock Werchter in 2008, but you should catch The Brian Jonestown Massacre if you get a chance.

Worst concert: MGMT at the Astra in Berlin.

Best concert among your own: Had a really good show in Prague on a tour back in 2014 with LFNT, thanks to a really loving crowd! I also have to mention one of the last shows I ever did as the bass player of Asaf Avidan & The Mojos, in France at an amphitheater as first act out of three: us, Robert Plant & Band of Joy and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, pretty sweet.

Vinyl, cd or mp3? Vinyl, though I left mine in Tel Aviv when I moved to Berlin. I should really get a new one!

Download or stream? Vinyl.

Clubconcert or festival? Club is more intimate, so I like it more normally. But there is this feeling I just can’t explain when you are standing in front of 100.000 humans.

Three songs that really have to be on your mixtape: I mentioned this one before but – „Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right“ by Bob Dylan / ‚God“ by John Lennon / „Changes“ by David Bowie, but honestly it could be a million other songs. The whole Idea of a mix-tape is to fit it to the person you are making it to. Love making them though, it’s a dying art, nothing like getting a real mix-TAPE.

An album you would NOT take with you to a lonely island: Is that a way to ask me who I don’t like? Justin Bieber. Did I pass the test?

In the picture is me and some of the girls (Gretchen, Fiona, Johanna & Carol) you can guess which is which and oh… there are a few more around 😉
