FRAGEBOGEN: Maybe Canada [English Version]

„Fragebogen“ is a standard interview with 15 questions around music plus a special task. This time it’s the singer Maybe Canada who answers them.

*** Hier geht es zur deutschen Version des Fragebogens ***

First cd: Europe – Prisoners in paradise. Early 90’s and I was way out listening to guitar heroes…

First concert: Metallica – Scandinavium Gothenburg 1994. Remember it as a really good concert. 14 years old this was the perfect start.

First childhood memory related to music: My dad listening a lot to Deep Purple and Black Sabbath on fridays.

Favourite song at the moment: Fake Sugar – Beth Ditto

A rather embarrassing song you like: „East bound and down“ – Jerry Read. From the not so great movie „Smokey and the bandit“. Catchy song I must say.

Favourite song among your own: I would have to say „Now & then“ at the moment. I like the sound of it and the lyrics still moves me.

Favourite songlyrics: I really like The National and most of their lyrics.

Best concert: Radiohead Copenhagen in early 2000. Sigur Ros as support band and the show took place in a giant tent looking lika a space craft.

Worst concert: Lucinda Williams a couple of years ago. She was really boring and did nothing for her fans.

Best concert among your own: I really liked a recent show at a city festival in Gothenburg. Full band and crazy raining outside a big tent.

Vinyl, cd or mp3? I’m not a nerd so at a daily base I would have to say digital/mp3. I love vinyls but I constatly listen to new music and streaming services suites me well.

Download or stream? Stream. For someone listening to music all days it’s fantastic.

Club concert or festival? Club concert or small festival. Everything sounds and feels better in a smaller venues.

Three songs that really have to be on your mixtape: Did you give the world some love today, Baby? – Doris, Afraid of nothing – Sharon Van Etten, Jesus etc. – Wilco

An album you would NOT take with you to a lonely island: Of albums I’ve listened to I can’t say that Rock N Roll by Ryan Adams would help me at all at a lonely island. Really bad one.
